Bullying (Physical and Cyber)

Today I was doing some research on bullying,  I looked at different kinds of bullying.  I looked at a site and learnt that there are Physical, Verbal, Social and Cyberbullying.  All of these are problems in our youth to this day.  But I will be talking to you about Physical and Cyberbullying...

What is Physical bullying?  Normally when you are physically bullying there is an imbalance of power.  For example strength, the bully will be more built or more solid than the victim, therefore, creating an imbalance of power.  This is one of the main aspects of bullying because this is what bullying is mainly known for.  Someone is afraid of doing something might they get harmed.  It can be as constantly being hitting, kicking, shoving, spitting and many more over and over again.  So it isn't a one-off.

What is Cyberbullying?  'Cyberbullying' is basically a fancy word for online bullying.  Although they may have the same traits as 'original' bullying it is a bit different.  Because there could be an imbalance of power regardless of age, strength or popularity.  This is because it is the use of technology.  The use of sending rude messages or pictures are more common.  This also means that could have never met they could have so private data and be able to blackmail or threat the victim.  This is an actual issue and there has been many cases of cyberbullying.

In conclusion, I have learnt that there are a whole bunch of ways that you can be bullied.  All I can say is don't let it get to you and if there is an issue talk about it with an adult.  It is not okay to have this in your own mind so talk about this to a person that you can trust and come up with solutions.

Kia Ora my name is Lasa and I am gong to talk to you about depression.  Depression is a real problem in our society.  If you have any problems or are depressed please tell your parents or your caregivers.  You can also contact the youth line.

If you contact the youthline they will talk with you and listen.  They will want to hear out your problem.  They care about your mental health because of your Taha Hinengaro.  They like listening and they will give you advice.  This will encourage you to be a better person.

They will talk with you and come up with new and amazing things to help be a better you. They care about you more about themselves.  Depression is a huge problem in our society and support may be what you need to stop it.

If you still go to school you may talk with your teacher, counseller or even just a friend.  I would like to leave this with have a great day and people do care.  You are important, have a great day and take care.

Separating a mixture using evaporation

Aim:
Find out how to use evaporation

Hypothesis:
I think the copper sulfate will start to evaporate due to the heat.

Equipment:
Copper Sulfate, 250ml Beaker, Heat Proof Mat, Evaporation Basin, Element

Method
1. Set up element
2. Add 100ml of hot water to the beaker and place on the element
3. Add copper sulfate to the evaporating basin until it is quarter full
4. Carefully, place the evaporating basin on top of the beaker
5. Turn element on to 8
6. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated and crystals of solute are forming.
7. Turn off the element - careful not to touch as will be hot for a long time

Observation
The copper sulfate is starting to evaporate and the water is boiling.  It is starting to condense.  Change the copper sulfate to gas and leave the rest as a solid.

Discussion:
The copper sulfate starts to evaporate because of the heat caused by the water on the element.  The solvent will start to evaporate then leave the solute.  This is happing because the h2O is boiling which is causing a lot of heat caused by the steam from the h2O.   Then it starts to condense.

Evaluation:
This experiment was fun and I really enjoyed it.  For the first time, we got to use an element. The outcome was unique and I liked it.

Taha Wairua - Kindness

Kia Ora my fellow friends,  today I am going to be talking about the meanings of Taha Wairua and Kindness.  I would like too start off by talking about Taha Wairua.

What does Taha Wairua mean?
Taha Wairua is keeping your spiritual well being healthy.  How do you keep your spiritual well being healthy?  You have to think about Church/Religion or you can worry about your cultural beliefs.  This could be as simple as going to community activities.

What did I do to show kindness?
For my RAK I write down what can I do to show kindness or help out in the family and this is what I wrote... In Health we are learning about Wellbeing. We are looking at random acts of kindness. Today I am carrying out a random act of kindness.  I would like to clean up the kitchen and the lounge to help out the family. Also help my sister when she is in need when cleaning up.

In conclusion I would like to say that if you want to keep healthy try be more kind everyday. Also attend more culture activities. Thank you and bye. :)
