Empathy

Empathy to us means to be able to fill someone else's shoes and know what they are feeling.  We show empathy by helping to motivate and encourage others to feel good about themselves.  I also think that empathy is a great way to make someone feel good about themselves.

This is my acrostic poem about EMPATHY:

What sport were you presenting?

I and my team did netball.  We taught our modified sport to the other groups it was superb.

What modifications did your group do and why?

My group did netball.  But before you got to take a shot you had to put the ball between your legs twice, once under the left leg and once under the right.  We choose this because I thought that it would have been easier for putting it under the legs than doing some complex thing.

What went well?

Everyone that played our modified sport was happy and overwhelmed with the modified sport that we all played.  I think that made them have a great time which means that we also did.  I like how we all had a voice and if we or they didn't like it we would try to change the game a little so they did.

What would you change?

I would change the environment that we played in.  I would like to be put inside the gym to have an even better experience.  It would be nice because we would've been even closer to the drinking fountain.

What was the difference between the first session and second?

I think that everyone listened.  They all had a great time but the second time went more smoothly.

Reflection

I think that this all worked well because of the leadership roles I and my team have participated in.

Recyeable Scupltures

This term me and many others have been trying to work on creating a sculpture using the recyclable rubbish we find.  We voted on creating the birds.  We would like to create birds because of there significant beauty.  We may make them using many colors.  We would like to make a kiwi to show our national bird.  We would like to use colors such as brown, black and green.  I hope that this will help us and the Hornby community.

What did I do on Tuesday?

We did multiball.  After that, we got to teach our own modified sport that we got put in.  I got put in Netball so we had our own way of playing it.  It was a hot day so we got very sweaty very easily.

Within your group what went well?

We got to all participate in the modified sport.  We all got to teach our modified sport and it turned out really well.  We were all happy and everyone was very enthusiastic.  I like to think that this was because we were all in the mindset to learn.

What do you need to change for next week?

I think that all we need to do is to be more prepared for next week.  We weren't really prepared to do the modified game (Not ready with equipment).   

What are you working on for next week?

To be prepared for what equipment we need.  I think that if we get that right we will get all of it all nice and smooth.  I cannot wait to do different sport and I hope that we know what we can say so that we can be able to have smooth modified games.

What do you look forward to presenting for next week?

I cannot wait to present because I am going to learn and teach our modified sports.

This year on Mondays and Thursdays I have been working on creating movies.  We have made 1-minute movies and fairy tales.  Let's talk about the different camera angles such as, close up, push up, zoom out, and plenty more!!!

Our stop to littering in Hornby

In your own words, what is the project?
 To make the community cleaner.  Creating art with rubbish.  By doing this we can create a higher standard for Hornby overall.  I also think that this will be good for us because we will make our minds more creative.

What's the purpose?
I think that the purpose is to make our community cleaner.  I also think that it is to show our community that if we can pick up rubbish then so can YOU.

How much rubbish do you think that we are going to collect? Why do you think that?
I think that we will be collecting at least 80 to 110 piece of rubbish.  I think that because we will be collecting from kyle park and our school.

What colors do you think we will see the most and why?
I think that we will be seeing a lot of transparent bottles, I think that because we all like to buy bottles and there most likely the transparent ones.  Such as value fizzy drinks, H2GO, and much more.

What type of art would you like to create and why?
I would like to create a flag with the different colored trash I find.  I will really be keen on creating different culture flags.

For the last couple of weeks, I have been working on creating a movie based on a fairy tale.  This is a very weird experience because I am used to doing something different like our own passions but it is something new and it is no problemo.  I was thinking of doing Puss in boots but with a twist with the name. This was quite the experience. I am still working on the movie. I hope to finish soon and at a high standard but this is what I'm doing at music period during the week.

Community Impact Projects

At community impact projects, my team (Christchurch Community) were thinking of a way to help our Christchurch community.  We were thinking of helping the Ronald Mc Donald house by cooking for the people that are in need of shelter for there children who need medical assistance.  How are we going to do it?

I was thinking of fundraising doing a mufti at our school.  We would buy our own foods and cook them for the people in the shelter.  We would make our own menus and feed the people in need.

I hope that people will get better in our Christchurch community.  I think that this would really help the people in need and they will be very thankful for it. I hope that they will get well fast and hope for the best bye.
